Through the exploration of sensation, this is a deeply collaborative and integrated practice that bridges talk-oriented therapy with healing bodywork. Transformative Touch understands the body as both a living record and vibrant resource. Our bodies at once hold all of the experiences that we’ve ever had and all of the seeds of our potential, while also existing profoundly and consistently in the present. This practice takes a holistic, trauma-informed approach to building relationship with the messages, memories, and responses of the body while seeding the being. This healing work fosters a sense of safety through connection that then open opportunities for movement, transformation, restoration and repair. We carry the impacts of living within settler colonial capitalist structures in our bodies. This practice honors the experiences of structural harm, understanding that bodily disconnection can be both a consequence of and survival strategy within oppressive systems. Our collective practice holds these experiences while growing awareness of the places where we hold capacity, support, and potent resources for healing. Sessions are focused around listening to the body through present-moment awareness of bodily tension, gestures, and sensations through a combination of mindfulness, dialogue, movement, and/or touch. We start with shaping your intention for the session. Integrating your intention with information from a scan of your energy field, care and support is channeled. This is a holistic approach to healing, supporting intentional and consensual subtle shifts in the energy field to restore balance, fullness, and movement. An energy work session is a combination of healing session and intuitive reading. Often a session is centering, grounding and relaxing. This is an experiential practice that can feel deep and inexplicable. Sometimes sessions feel intense and potent, bringing a sense of release and restoration. DISTANCE SESSIONS Energy work distance sessions allow for energetic support from the comfort of your home/location. While being a different relational experience, distance sessions expand healing space in times of different location, access needs, illness or quarantine, hospitalization, or personal preference. SESSIONS WITH ANIMAL FRIENDS Animal sessions allow for some energetic support for whatever your animal friend is sharing that they need. That can look like general check-in or supportive care; healing from illness, grief, or anxiety; and end of life transition care. We held a weekly community free clinic that I was an active part of for six years. I completed reiki master teacher training in 2006 and began facilitating trainings. I’m heavily influenced by ethics of mutual aid and community care. Reiki is a form of energy work coming out of Japan, where I have no cultural context or ancestry. It has been a vibrant and immensely impactful formative experience to my energy work practice. In my years long exploration of anti oppression and decolonization in healing practice, my energy practice has evolved. It is a weaving of influences including my relationship with the natural world and my animal friends, fostering deep trust and connection with intuitive senses, healing traditions in my lineage as an ashkenazi Jew, polyvagal theory, animism, biodynamics, psychology, Buddhism, years in social justice community, anti- oppression work and queerness. I hold healing space with intention to provide deep care and recognition for the harm caused by trauma, racism, sexism, transphobia, ableism, fat phobia, and other forms of structural oppression.
